Elderly couple trapped in a car following a crash on the A5 in Northamptonshire
An elderly couple were in ‘high spirits’ despite being trapped in a car following a crash on the A5 this afternoon.
Northamptonshire police, fire and rescue and the ambulance service all attended the two-vehicle crash on the A5 just outside Fosters Booth at around 1.30pm today (Wednesday).
PC Dave Lee from the Northants Police Roads Policing Unit said: “Elderly couple trapped in the vehicle but are absolutely fine. We’ve requested fire to assist.”
He later added: “Fire service now in attendance. The couple in the car are in high spirits.”
Both vehicles were recovered and the elderly couple were taken to hospital as a precaution.
