YOUNGSTERS at Weedon Bec Primary School have been helping out children less fortunate than themselves.
They have been taking part in Operation Christmas Child run by the Samaritans. All of the pupils have either filled shoeboxes with toys and educational items or contributed items to shoeboxes.
The school has sent a total of 50 boxes which will now be distributed to some of the poorest regions in the world.
Year Six teacher Anna Rushall said: “It is especially good for the children to know during the festive period that there are children out there who are not as fortunate as themselves.
“We will be lucky as well because we will get little stories and letters from the people who have received the shoeboxes.
“I think it will be really nice for the children to see their hard work appreciated by some of the people.
“At the moment, I think the boxes are heading for parts of Eastern Europe, that seems to be a priority for the Samaritans.”
