At its next monthly meeting on Thursday March 17, Daventry and District U3A (University of the Third Age) will be holding an open meeting from 2pm to 3.30pm at the Daventry Community Centre, Ashby Road.

It is an opportunity for all retired and semi-retired ‘third agers’, whether members or not, to come along and see what the group has to offer from more than 20 interest groups run by members, which will all have displays.

Groups include art and craft, languages, sport and exercise, discussions, indoor games and research.

There’s no charge so drop in and you can chat to existing members over a cup of tea.

The aim of the U3A is to provide opportunities for ‘Third Agers’ no longer in full time employment to develop their interests and hobbies or even learn new ones with people of similar outlooks.

No qualifications are needed to join and there are no examinations. The idea is to have fun while learning.
