The event will be open to the public and is supported by Daventry District Council, Daventry Town Council and Northamptonshire County Council.

Ian Vincent, chief executive of Daventry District Council, on behalf of all partners involved in the project, has this week written to schools and colleges, encouraging them to join in the festival to showcase their activities, specialisms and the talents of their students.

He said: “We all know the wonderful opportunities that our schools and colleges provide for the young people in the town and are delighted that these will be shared with local people.

“All partners involved in this unique event are keen to showcase the rich tapestry of education opportunities available in Daventry, and provide greater recognition for our home-grown talent through the new Young People Awards.”

Further details of the festival have yet to be confirmed and a full programme of activities and timings will be available nearer the date.

The organisers say they are keen for members of the local community to get in touch about what they would like to see and experience at the festival.
