'˜Dying to meat you': family-friendly '˜penny dreadful'-style play coming to Daventry

A free family-friendly horror-themed show will be performed at Daventry Museum over the Easter holidays.

Amy Bullock stars in ‘Penny Dreadful! Or Mrs Lovett’s Revenge!’ and the show takes place at 2pm on Wednesday, April 12.

The original one-woman show features Sweeney Todd’s partner in crime, Mrs Lovett, who is famed for helping the bloodthirsty barber dispose of his victims by baking their flesh into meat pies.

Also featuring in the play will be “other grotesque characters from the cheap and grisly pages of the Victorian era’s penny dreadful papers.”

The show was written by Jonathan Goodwin and directed by Gary Archer.

It has been specially devised for families, is suitable for ages five plus, and features multi-role play and audience participation.
