Dozens of villagers took part in a duck race held in Long Buckby last Friday.
The event saw more than 100 plastic ducks released on the water for the event held at Mill Park Reserve on West Street.
It took place on the stream and was hosted in a bid to raise funds for a study centre at the reserve. This would enable the facility to be used by children at the village’s nursery, infant and junior schools.
The duck race was a last-minute addition to the organisers of the Long Buckby Feast. The feast is a series of events held throughout the final two weeks in August and raises money for good causes in the village.
There were stalls selling refreshments at the event, but a final total has yet to be revealed.
