DSLV advertises for new leader

The Danetre and Southbrook Learning Village (DSLV) has put an advert out looking for a new principal.

The position – with responsibility for education for pupils aged three to 19 – is to command a six-figure salary.

The new head will replace David Howell, who had been in charge for the past six years.

He resigned with immediate effect last month and has been replaced as acting principal by Angie Lakey.

The advert states: “DSLV is a vibrant, inclusive all-through academy with strong ties to its community. DSLV offers children an enriching learning environment through all phases of their education.

“Beyond the classroom, students participate in regular Curriculum Enrichment Days, leading projects in and around the academy. The academy has genuine potential and now requires a highly skilled Principal/Headteacher to harness this and deliver significant improvements for the academy so that it is quickly graded as being good and ultimately outstanding.

“We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of improvement at Headship level.”

Applications for the position close on Friday January 19.

The successful candidate could be in charge by April.
