A SCHOOLBOY battling life-threatening leukaemia was treated to ‘one of the best days of his life’ when he got the chance to cook with his idol on national TV.
Budding chef James Nicoll saw his dream come true when he spent the day at one of London’s top restaurants with celebrity cook Mickael Weiss.
James helped create a range of tasty dishes at the Coq d’Argent restaurant before his food was presented to hundreds of hungry diners including BBC MasterChef judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
Another of James’ heroes, birdwatcher Bill Oddie, was also at the restaurant to sample the youngster’s food.
Ten-year-old James, from Mercury Close on the Timken estate in Daventry, was given the once-in-a lifetime opportunity through Starlight, a charity which grants wishes to seriously ill children.
