Dogs descended on Daventry Country Park for fun walkies to raise money for other animals who may not have had the best start in life.

Pet owners paid £5 to take their four legged friends for the Spring Pack Walk.

The walk, which was two and a half miles, raised £103.33 for the RSPCA Northamptonshire branch.

Jaymi-Lee Wilmin, fundraising manager for the RSPCA Northamptonshire Branch, said: “Walks such as this are a great and fun way for us to be able to raise the vital funds needed to pay for veterinary and care treatment for our animals.

“These events can make a real difference to the lives of animals in our care.

“We are a small and independent local charity trying to help animals in the local area. The more money we can raise at events like this, the more animals we can help.”

The next fundraising event is a Fun Dog Show, which takes place on Sunday, July 17, at the Obelisk Centre, Northampton, from 11.15am.

Jaymi-Lee said: “This will be a big event as it was very popular last year.

“Bobbytails Dog Group will be doing a display, there will also be a have-a-go agility area, fun novelty classes, stalls, refreshments, a raffle and also a chance to sign up for the Big Walkies on the day.”
