Dog attack on mum in Weedon

A MOTHER was attacked by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier in Weedon on Saturday.

She was bitten on the left arm by the dog and suffered a wound and bruising in the attack on West Street in the village between 5.30pm and 5.45pm.

The 36-year-old was walking along the road with her 10-year-old son and a Jack Russell dog when she saw the unaccompanied animal barking as it approached her. She picked up her son and dog and the bull terrier jumped several times to get to the Jack Russell.

Customers from a local pub assisted her in getting the bull terrier away. The dog ran off in the direction of Church Street.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is described as approximately 18ins tall, average build with no collar.
