DIRFT III plans set to move a step closer

PLANS for the DIRFT III development will be considered by Daventry District Council (DDC) on Wednesday night.

The development will create around 9,000 new jobs and will take around 15 years to build. The development will consist of 714,000 square metres of warehouses on the Rugby radio mast site between the DIRFT development and Lilbourne.

While it will create plenty of jobs, there has been a lot of controversy with many worrying about the loss of open countryside and an increase in traffic.

DDCs planning committee will be giving their view on the proposal with a final decision to be made by the planning inspectorate.
