A demonstration will be held in Daventry opposing the closure of two care homes.
Organised by the staff at the Evelyn Wright home in Daventry, the protest will be held from 1pm to 4pm in the town centre on Saturday January 16.
Northamptonshire County Council has proposed closing two of its care homes in the county as part of its efforts to balance the books. It has not yet said which care homes could be at risk.
A spokesman for the protest organisers said: “We have already lost one care home in Daventry [the Grange Care Home]; we need our vulnerable elderly to have the choice of staying in what is their home. Please come and support us.”
The protest will be static, and there will be petitions available to sign against the closures.
You can also sign the petition online.
