Daventry & District Housing’s Youth Board is set to host an afternoon of free festive fun for local youngsters on Saturday December 20.

Taking place between 1pm and 5pm at the Phoenix Youth Centre on Ashby Road.

Daventry, the event provides a chance for budding young Christmas elves to learn a number of new skills as part of the ‘Elf Academy’.

During the session, children will make Christmas cards, decorate edible festive treats, play games and learn dance moves.

Parents are also invited to the graduation party which takes place at the end of the session, and will see the trainee elves receive their graduation certificate.

Katie Jones, Youth Development Officer for Daventry and District Housing, said: “With Christmas just around the corner and with schools breaking up on Friday, this weekend is the ideal time to host this sort of event.

“It’s fantastic to once again link-up with the Phoenix Centre to host this sort of free event at what is an expensive time of the year for many families. Our Youth Board members are keen to get into the festive spirit and are really looking forward to helping the budding young elves with the activities.”

The Daventry & District Housing Youth Board, which works closely with the current

DDH Board, is for local young people aged between 12 and 17-years-old. They meet once a week and play an active role in DDH communities and make a difference to DDH services.
