A DAY of action will be held in Daventry town centre this month for people to talk about any issues they have about community safety.
Officers from the Daventry District and South Northamptonshire Community Safety Partnership have organised various activities to take place by the skate park in New Street, next to the Tesco car park, from 12pm to 4pm on Monday.
People will be able to find talk about any issues or concerns they may have while also receive safety information and advice about Halloween and bonfire night events coming up.
Volunteers will also be doing litter picks and cutting back hedges in the New Street Recreation Ground, while Environmental Protection Officers will be giving advice about littering and dog fouling.
There will also be stands with lots of information from various partners including Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service, Neighbourhood Watch and Daventry & District Housing (DDH).
Ian Vincent, of the Daventry District and South Northamptonshire Community Safety Partnership, said: “The day of action will enable our partners to promote public safety in the local community and also the benefits of the nearby skate park, which has been a success with engaging young people since it was built in the summer.
“Shoppers in the town centre will also be able to tell us any concerns they may have and how we can work to improve safety in their community in a positive way.”
The Community Safety Partnership brings together partners including Daventry District Council, South Northamptonshire Council, Northamptonshire County Council, Northamptonshire Police and the Police Authority, Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service, NHS Northamptonshire and the Probation Service to reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour within the community.
