Daventry students invited to design flag for women's cycling race

Schools are invited to get creative and design a flag for a women's cycling race.

Students in years seven-nine have three categories to choose from for the Women’s Tour, which starts in Daventry on June 7.

The flag design should reflect one of the following: Northamptonshire and the local community; Women’s Sport; Celebration of Culture and Sport; Women’s Cycling.

The winner will have their flag made up into a real life flag, and will be invited to start the race with the chosen dignitary, using the flag they design.

For primary schools, the competition is to ‘Design a Women’s Cycle Jersey’ and is open to those in years three-six

It design should reflect one or more of the following: Northamptonshire and the local community; Women’s Sport; Celebration of Culture and Sport; Women’s Cycling.

The winner will get their jersey made up and will present it to the stage winner at the end of the race in Kettering.

There will also be around 17 runners up places in this competition, each of whom will get the chance to be a team mascot at the start of the race on Daventry.
