Futures Housing Group – which includes Daventry and District Housing which rebranded as Futures Housing in May this year – has been shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious Housing Heroes Awards.

Liam Wheatley, a maintenance operative apprentice, has been shortlisted for the Apprentice of the Year award while the organisation’s Communications Team has been named in the Communications team of the year category.

Liam was automatically entered for the Apprentice of the Year category after winning the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Midlands apprentice of the year last October. He was credited for being a model apprentice with fantastic aptitude for the job and for receiving rave reviews from tutors and mentors.

The Communications Team is looking to win their second national award in the space of six months having already claimed the Best Collaboration crown at the Comms2Point0 awards in December.

At those awards - one of the hardest communications based accolades to win - the team were recognised for co-ordinating a regional response to the National Housing Federation’s Homes for Britain campaign when they brought together housing associations, team members, academics and politicians for a series of events.

Lindsey Williams, Futures Housing Group chief executive, said: “It’s fantastic that our organisation has been recognised in two categories at these well-regarded and highly-competitive awards.

WWe’re also very proud of the consistently high-standard of work produced by our talented Communications Team who have achieved another notable award shortlisting.”

The Housing Heroes Awards, run by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing, will take place at the Exchange Hall in Manchester on Monday June 27.
