Falconers Hill Infant School in Daventry has received an award for being a National Outstanding School for the delivery of Real PE.

Cathy Brown, Midlands manager for Create Development, and Liam Nicell, senior coach for Northamptonshire Sport, visited the school to present the award.

In addition, Hayley Hunt, the school’s PE lead teacher, was a finalist for Outstanding PE Teacher of the year.

Headteacher Coleen Wilkins said: “Children at this school absolutely love Real PE which is all about challenging themselves to improve personal targets. PE lessons ring with the sound of enthusiasm and enjoyment.

“We were absolutely delighted to win the award which recognises the hard work that all the staff have put in to deliver a new and exciting approach to PE.

“We are also very proud of Hayley who is truly an outstanding leader who shows us all by example that PE is exciting for everyone not just the naturally talented.”
