Daventry runners get ready for London Marathon

Runners from Daventry will be putting their best foot forward when they take on the London Marathon on Sunday.

Steve Darler, Susan Henderson and Chloe Burdett will be running the 26.2 miles to raise funds for a good cause.

Mrs Henderson will be raising funds for both the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the National Deaf Children’s Society.

Her granddaughter Lara was diagnosed with Cystic Fybrosis shortly after birth.

She said: “Lara is doing really well, enjoying a full and active life including swimming, and gymnastics

“When she grows up she wants to be a princess!”

Another of her granddaughters, Charlotte, was diagnosed with severe hearing impairment following an early screening.

Former RAF servicewoman Chloe Burdett is hoping to raise £1,500 for the British Forces Foundation. She said: “The foundation is a fantastic charity that supports our troops currently serving, and also those injured as a result of operations.

“They provide entertainment events, celebrity visits and support at particularly difficult times in order to boost morale and hopefully make the time fly by quicker until the servicemen and women return home.”
