Daventry pupils on course for university places

High-flying students from Daventry are celebrating being offered places at their first choice universities.

The seven sixth form students, who are studying at Danetre and Southbrook Learning Village will take up their places in September.

Wasiq Sajjad has been accepted to study medicine at The University of Cambridge’s Pembroke College, to fulfil his ambition to become a surgeon.

The future medical student is currently on course to get 4 A*’s in his Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths A Level exams.

Musician Chelsea James has been offered the opportunity to study the Tenor Horn at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Chelsea performed so well in her auditions she also received offers from the Royal Northern College or Music and The Birmingham Conservatoire.

Budding actress Lizzie Barker has chosen to study Drama and Performance and English Literature at Worcester University but received offers from five universities.

Geographers, Hannah Barnes and Katrina Goffin, have accepted offered from Portsmouth University to study Physical Geography and Hull University to study pure Geography respectively.

Social scientist Rhian Bellis will study Sociology at Nottingham Trent University, whilst historian Meghan Davies, has received offers from Russell Group Universities including the University of Manchester, The University of Liverpool and The University of Sheffield.
