Daventry pre-school gets a make-over

A Daventry pre-school has undergone a transformation, officially being reopened by the Mayor.

Giggles Pre-School operated by Daventry Community Centre on Ashby Road has recently been completely transformed from two changing rooms to a bright and airy room for the children.

Not only has the main centre been regenerated but more revenue enabled the committee to pay for the internal works.

A spokesman said: “Last Friday we invited the Mayor of Daventry Cllr Glenda Simmonds to come and do the official opening for the children.

“Funding from Northampton Tractory fund also meant that the outside play area could have a colourful make over to with help from National Citizen Service youth volunteers who painted the outside play house and new chalk boards for the garden and planted flowers – our special thanks also go to them.

“The Mayor was here for over hour or so and after the official ribbon cutting and a cup of tea spent time speaking with the children and admiring their work.”

The pre-school is holding an open afternoon on Wednesday September 28 between 3pm and 7pm for parents and children to go and meet the Giggles team and have a look around.

The pre-school has been operating for nearly 25 years, opening from 9am to 3pm and is now looking to operate holiday clubs in the future.
