Daventry power cut caused by faulty transformer.

A POWER cut in Daventry on Sunday was caused by a faulty transformer.

The power briefly went off in the town at around 10.30am. Residents living near the Norton Road electricity substation reported hearing a loud bang just before the power-outage.

The fire service was called out to the substation where they found a charred and melted transformer.

The incident was left with electrical engineers.
