People across the Daventry district paused on Sunday to remember those who fought and died for our freedoms.
Daventry’s service saw hundreds gather at the town’s war memorial following the parade through the town centre.
The parade, led by the Liberty Drums Corps, included veterans, represetatives of the Royal British Legion, air, army and police cadets, Beavers, Cubs And Scouts, Guides, as well as civic leaders.
Following the two minute silence at 11am, the roll of honour was read out by students from the town secondary schools and the UTC, and wreaths laid around the foot of the memorial by a host of different groups.
Daventry’s Armistice Day service takes place tomorrow – Wednesday November 11 – at the gazebo in Sheaf Street. The short service will include a two minute silence at 11am.
