Daventry Museum flooded after downpour

Staff at Daventry Museum got a little more than they bargained for yesterday when during a short downpour they came downstairs to find water flowing into the building.

Lynn Scott, communications officer at Daventry Town Council said: “We were upstairs watching the rain flowing down the street like a river. When we came downstairs it was flowing into the building.”

Nothing was damaged in the minor flood, thought to be caused by a blocked drain, and humidifiers have been set up to dry out the carpets.
