Daventry man charged with dangerous driving and assault

A MAN from Daventry has been charged in relation to a collision on the A5 which left a man with serious injuries.

A 33-year-old man was charged yesterday (Thursday, May 10) with assault and dangerous driving following a collision on the A5 at the Duncote junction.

The collision, between a Mercedes Vito van and Renault Megane, took place at 12.30pm on Thursday, March 15. The driver of the Renault Megane, a 32-year-old man from Buckingham, received serious injuries but police say he is now recovering.

The driver of the van was arrested at the scene and interviewed by officers.

The man, who has not been named by police, is due to appear at Northampton Magistrates on May 31.
