Fundraising kicks off with a race night at Casey’s Club in Daventry from 7pm on Friday, March 18.

Alison Creaney, who is one of the team members, said: “Along with lots of chances to win on the races there will also be a raffle. Local businesses are supporting us by donating prizes too.”

Tickets are £5 each, which gets entry to the race night, buffet and a disco.

Proceeds will be added to funds raised by Toni Tull’s efforts taking part in the Stafford Half Marathon on March 20, and the Ben Nevis Charity Challenge on June 18.

Alex and Jarrod Meek and Alison and Tom Creaney will be helping Bliss and Roni Blyth, Jo Keay, Zoe Smiley and Hayley Frost will be taking the challenge for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Alison said: “Teams of four are challenged to climb Ben Nevis the UK’s highest mountain, cycle 25 miles and canoe a 2km course on Lock Lochy.

“This is similar to a challenge that we did a few years ago which involved climbing Snowdon, and also some of the team did the three peaks challenge and wanted another go at Ben Nevis!”
