Daventry gets set for Sport Relief
Daventry District Council’s leisure partner Everyone Active is hosting two activities giving residents the chance to get involved in the national charity event.
This year’s Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile takes place on Sunday 20 March.

Hide AdThere are choices of three or six mile runs, both setting off at 11am, or a one-mile run setting off at 11.30am
All the runs start outside Daventry Leisure Centre and take in the Eastern Way playing fields, with entrants encouraged to wear fancy dress.
Refreshments will be available all day and kids can enjoy the Play World soft play area at the Leisure Centre. People can enter at www.sportrelief.com
Event organiser Adam Mundy said: “The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in Daventry is here and it’s your time to walk or run yourself proud. From little ones with their mums and dads, to runners up against the clock there’s something for everyone to make themselves feel proud on this special day.”

Hide AdThe centre, in Lodge Road, is also hosting the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Swimathon on Saturday and Sunday 19 and 20 March. There are team and individual challenges available over distances of 1.5km, 2.5km and 5km. People can find out more at www.swimathon.org
Councillor Alan Hills, portfolio holder for community, culture and leisure at Daventry District Council, said: “It is always pleasing to see the amount of support shown for this event by the people of Daventry and I’m sure this year will be no exception. Not only is it an opportunity to raise money for a good cause, it’s also great way to get fit and have fun, so get your running shoes on and get involved!”
