TRADITIONAL rural activities, plus lots of fun and games will be packed into Daventry Country Park this Sunday (May 13).

The annual Countryside Day, run by Daventry District Council (DDC), will showcase the best in traditional countryside events and local activities, and is one of the biggest days of the year at the park.

The day runs from noon to 4pm, at Daventry Country Park.

There will be static and flying displays of birds of prey, while the popular Logs on Draught horse loggers will provide demonstrations on the traditional way woods were managed.

Working Gun Dogs will also be hosting a training session with dogs learning to retrieve from the water.

There will also be the opportunity for visitors to have their dog’s health checked with the PDSA Petcheck service or get advice on care and see some of the dogs available for rehoming from Dogs Trust, the largest dog welfare charity in the UK.

There will also be facepainting, a children’s bouncy castle and rides for youngsters.
