As a Green Flag Award winner, the park has been entered into the 2018 People’s Choice Awards – an opportunity for the public to vote for their favourite green space.

Voting has now opened and will run until Sunday, September 30, with the top 10 winning sites announced on October 16.

Councillor Alan Hills, community, culture and leisure portfolio holder at Daventry District Council, said: “We are extremely proud of the park’s Green Flag status, and it would be wonderful to crown that achievement by winning a place in the top ten of this year’s People’s Choice Award.

"I would ask anyone who enjoys visiting the park to spend a moment voting for it in these national awards so that we can demonstrate to the nation what a great, popular country park we have here in Daventry."

People can vote for Daventry Country Park by visiting www.daventrydc.gov.uk/countrypark or by searching for Daventry Country Park on Facebook.

The Country Park, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, received its latest Green Flag Award in July.

It has now been awarded the status 18 times in the past 19 years.
