A team of cheerleaders from Daventry have finished as runners up after appearing at a national championships.

Daventry’s Scorpion Cheerleaders Squad took to floor against 150 other teams from across the country demonstrating their skills in front of the UK Cheerleading Association judges in Manchester.

The competition, on Saturday, March 15, lasted for two days and many members of the team were excited that they had finished runners up.

Molly Sharp, aged 11, said: “This was my second competition with the Scorpions and I loved every minute of it. It was such an experience and I cannot wait until the next one.”

The team are not only competing again in April but will be working towards a performance in London.

The group has now been together for more than two years and are getting known for their titles on the national stage.

Not only did they finish runners up in this weekend’s Nationals UKCA competition, but they were noticed by the winners of Sky One’s Got To Dance Chris and Wes and also received a friendly welcome from Diversity at the Move It event held in London.
