DAVENTRY is in for a dancing treat as a professional choreographer launches her dance night.
Emma Pettitt, from Daventry, has been teaching dance, competing and performing, as well as producing choreography (including the BBC’s Big Dance 2006) for over 18 years, and is now launching a dance company to teach others her passion.
On Wednesday September 12 she will introduce her company ‘Academy No1’ to Daventry at the Daventry Community Centre, Ashby Road, from 7.30pm until 11.00pm.
Tuition in the Waltz, Cha Cha Cha and Argentine Tango are available as well as social dancing, dance demonstrations from Emma’s team of professionals and nibbles and wine provided for £8 on the door.
Academy No1, who specialise in Ballroom, Latin, Tango, Mambo, Jive and Swing, will hold regular weekly classes every Wednesday from 7.45pm to 10.45pm.
Emma will also be setting up weekly children’s classes on Wednesdays from 4pm to 6.30pm in October and assisting with fundraising activities for the centre in the future.
