DACT funding decision delayed

TOWN councillors have decided to wait before making a decision on whether to hand extra funds to DACT.

DACT has written to the council asking for £7,909 to help fund its car scheme for the town, which transports elderly and disabled people to medical appointments.

At a finance and policy meeting on Monday night Daventry Town Council said it wants to wait to see how much money Northamptonshire County Council hands to DACT next year before making a decision.

Town council clerk Deborah Jewell added that the authority already gives DACT around £12,000 each year to fund the town’s dial-a-ride bus scheme.
