Curry house in Northampton comes runner-up in regional search for best South Asian restaurant in UK
Saffron, in Castilian Street, has been named the runner up in the East Midlands region in the annual competition to find the best South Asian restaurant in the UK.
Nominees are selected by the public and then put forward by their local MPs. Saffron was nominated by MP for Northampton South, David Mackintosh.

The Tiffin Cup is awarded every year by the Tiffin Club of MPs, formed in 2006 by former MP John Barrett, Michael Fabricant MP and Keith Vaz MP.
The aim is not only to applaud the quality of South Asian food in Britain but also to raise much needed money for charity. This year the competition is in aid of the charity World Vision.
Saffron owner Naz Islam said: “To be named regional runner-up is a real honour for us and we are very grateful to David Mackintosh for his nomination. The Tiffin Cup is held in the highest regard by the restaurant industry.”
Mr Islam will now attend the Tiffin Cup finals in Westminster on October 27 and be presented with a commemorative apron and certificate marking the achievement.
