Magistrates banned a speeding motorist for 28 days and hit him with a whopping £1,100 fine after he was clocked at 118mph on the M1 near Northampton.

Chuck Wing Tsang, 47, registered 118mph in his Honda Accord on the 70mph northbound stretch between Junction 16 and Junction 18 at 11.32pm on June 12 last year.

Tsang, of Evans Road, Rugby was also ordered to pay a £110 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £85 after he pleaded guilty at Northampton Magistrates Court earlier this month.
