Police launched an arson investigation after a van was destroyed by fire in the early hours of the morning Daventry at the weekend.

Firefigters rushed to the blazing Ford Transit in Elder Drive in the town at at around 1.15am on Sunday morning.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "We believe the vehicle was deliberately set on fire.

"Our officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the fire who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident, or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously.

"Anyone with information which may help our investigation can call 101 using reference number 20000480522 — or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
