In a letter given to nearby residents shortly after the raids, Daventry District Sergeant Sam Dobbs wrote: “Your estate is known allover the district for its community spirit and desire to tidy itself up in every way.

“Because of information that residents have come forward with, we were able to seek tonight’s warrants from the magistrates and will continue to do so in response to your neighbourliness and desire to keep the area free from drugs.

“You can speak to your local councillors, your local officers or your Neighbourhood Watch coordinators to pass us any information you think may be of interest in relation to any matters concerning crime, drugs or antisocial behaviour. “Tonight you can see how that turns into positive action.

“Thank you to those of you who take an interest in keeping the area safe and feeling safe. I hope you take some satisfaction that you have helped us frustrate the actions of those who make it less safe. We’ll keep at it and we always do that best together with the community.”
