A 43-year-old man has admitted pleasuring himself and sexually assaulting a woman on a train in Northampton.
David Robinson appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday) after he was charged with sexual assault and committing an act of outraging public decency on June 20 this year.
The court heard that a woman was on a train travelling on the Coventry to Northampton line, via Rugby and Long Buckby, when Robinson sat next to her and touched her leg.
After being told to leave her alone, Robinson then sat opposite the woman and spread his legs either side of her and pleasured himself.
When the train stopped at Northampton, the woman got off and alerted a member of staff at the station. Police were called and Robinson, of Rowan Close, Coventry, was arrested.
The case was adjourned to allow for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
