5. ROSS COONEY
The callous 33-year-old from Corby caused a head-on crash by overtaking dangerously then fled the scene, leaving his friend dead in the wreckage and another driver seriously injured in April 2019. Northampton Crown Court heard 45-year-old Kelly Meek had been a passenger in the rear seat of his car. Cooney was found guilty earlier this year and sentenced to nine years in December. 6. DANIEL FARRANT and LEWIS SYMONS
The Wellingborough robbers pleaded guilty to a violent robbery which left two victims with knife wounds and head injuries inside a house in April this year. Symons, 27, and 30-year-old Farrant demanded fled with cash leaving one man needing to be placed in an induced coma in hospital. 7. DECLAN COLVIL
A judge branded 23-year-old Colvil as “feral” after hearing how he viciously attacked two men inside and outside a Northampton nightclub in a row over a cigarette in November 2021. Colvil, now of Riverside Road in Greenock, Scotland admitted affray and two counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and was sentenced to 26 months. Photo: Northamptonshire Police
8. JARED JOHN PATRICK WRIGHT
Wright, 35, was a prolific burglar and banned from driving when he stole a van after breaking into a house in Kettering before speeding dangerously off-road, then dumping in Corby. He pleaded guilty to burglary, a second attempted burglary on the same night, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified and was sentenced to two years, eight months.
