Police are hunting a teenage gang who beat up and robbed a 12-year-old boy in a Daventry park on Saturday evening.

Officers say the victim was punched and kicked by the group — all believed to be between the ages of 12 and 14 — in the open space alongside the Icon Centre.

The attackers then ran off with the youngster's bluetooth speaker.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this group of boys in the area between Ashby Road and the Icon Centre between 6.15pm and 6.30pm on Saturday, September 5.

"One boy was wearing a full blue adidas tracksuit and another was wearing a full black Nike tracksuit. A third boy was wearing a white t-shirt and black jogging bottoms.

"If there are any witnesses, or anyone who may have with CCTV or dashcam footage which could help with our investigations, please call us on 101 using incident number 20000464919."
