Four people from different households slapped with Covid fines after car-sharing in Daventry

The 19-year-old driver just bought the car on Facebook and did not have a valid licence or insurance.

Four fixed penalty notices were issued after police found a car containing four people from different households in Browns Road, Daventry yesterday (January 25).

This incident took place at about 4.30pm when police caught sight of a green Honda Civic with four people inside.

Officers, upon further inspection, found that the driver had no license, no insurance and he had just purchased the vehicle on Facebook.

All four people in the vehicle were from different households and they were not wearing masks.

Two fixed penalty notices were issued to the two adults inside the vehicle and a further two fixed penalty notices were issued to the parents of the two 17-year-olds who were also in the car.

The 19-year-old driver was reported for summons and his car was promptly seized.
