Driver caught speeding at 113mph through M1 roadworks in Northamptonshire
A driver is to be prosecuted by Northamptonshire Police after a vehicle clocked an average speed of 113mph through the 50mph limit roadworks on the M1 in Northamptonshire.
Traffic officers have been processing the speeding offence which happened on Saturday morning in the roadworks area, which runs from junction 15 to junction 19.
The Safer Roads Team tweeted today that one vehicle averaged 113mph over a 1.8 mile zone.
In February the Chronicle & Echo reported that 3,000 people had been prosecuted for speeding in the 50 mph average speed trap.
