Distraction burglar targets elderly victim

AN ELDERLY victim had cash stolen in a distraction burglary in Watford.

Between 11.45am and 12.45pm on Friday, August 19, a man claiming to be from the electricity company visited the house and said he needed to check the meter.

Once inside he stole money belonging to the victim, aged 87.

The burglar was white, aged 35 to 40, stocky build, clean shaven, had a local accent, was 5ft 3ins to 5ft 4ins tall, and wore a white shirt, black trousers with an ID pinned to his shirt.
