AN EASTER egg tombola in Daventry raised almost double last year’s figure.
The Alzheimer’s Society ‘Eggstravaganza’ was held in New Strert on Saturday, with an egg tombola and name the Easter bunny competition.
Brenda Davis, volunteer leader for the Daventry fundraising group, said: “We raised a total of £324.15 which is absolutely brilliant. The whole event went really well.
“We had a name the bunny competition, whose name was Hope, which was won by Dorothy Holmes.
“I just want to say thank you to all the people who participated, those who donated, and in particular to Waitrose, Tesco and All Aspects Care.”
All the money raised from the event will go towards Alzheimer Society services in the county for carers and sufferers with the condidion.
