WHEN you have a young child life is full of firsts and new adventures, particularly at this magical time of year.
And this week was no exception for my little girl, who got to see her first pantomime at Milton Keynes Theatre.
This year’s festive offering is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and it is the perfect musical package for Christmas.
From the beginning, my daughter was spellbound and I have to confess, the magic wasn’t lost on me either.
Stars Warwick Davis, who plays Prof and Jennifer Ellison, who plays The Wicked Queen, bring the necessary sparkle to this fairytale favourite, which is brought to life with a soundtrack of musical hits from One Direction to The Eurythmics.
Kate Stewart is perfectly cast as the beautiful, but vulnerable, Snow White, but for me it was Kev Orkian as Herbert who dazzled this year.
There was plenty of slapstick silliness for the little ones to enjoy, but he was quick-witted and funny enough to keep the adults laughing all night. Your heart will melt when he brings the golden ticket winners onto stage at the end.
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a pantomime and this cracker will keep children of all ages laughing right into the new year.
- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs runs until January 12. For tickets, call 0844 871 7652 or visit ATG Tickets.
