Council hosts rural crime event in village

An event designed to tackle problems such as dog mess, littering and fly-tipping till be held in Woodford Halse next week.

The event will be at the SureStart centre in Scrivens Hill in the village on Tuesday from 1pm to 5pm.

It has been organised by Northamptonshire Police, tan is an opportunity for residents living in the area to get advice and information about any community concerns they may have.

Environmental Protection Officers from Daventry District Council (DDC) wll be at the event advising people about tackling problems like littering, fly-tipping and dog mess at the free community event.

There have been several reports of problems with dog mess in many villages.

The Council’s Dog Warden will also be able to give free advice about looking after dogs, and there will be lots of information about littering, fly-tipping, graffiti and dog fouling.

DDC leader Cllr Chris Millar said: “This is a great opportunity to get some free advice from our officers about any issues residents may have about things like fly-tipping and littering.

“I would encourage people to go along in the afternoon and see what help they can get.”
