Daventry District Council has announced its service arrangements for the Christmas and New Year period.
The Council will be closing over Christmas and New Year from Thursday, December 25 until Friday, January 2.
Essential services such as waste and recycling collections and street cleaning will continue over the festive period and there will be arrangements for emergencies.
The decision to close the council’s non-essential and back office services is in response to low demand for services during this period.
Daventry District Council’s phone lines will close at 4.30pm on Christmas Eve, with its Lodge Road reception closing at 5pm. The reception will reopen at 8.30am on Friday, January 2, with phone lines reopening at 9am the same day.
Over Christmas, residents can continue to access information and services online at www.daventrydc.gov.uk including checking planning applications, reporting missed bins and making payments.
The civic offices in Lodge Road will still be open to visitors of Jobcentre Plus and Northamptonshire County Council’s Children’s and Young People’s Service. The Abbey Centre in St John’s Square, Daventry, will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, December 27 and New Year’s Day and will close at 6pm from December 29 until December 31.
