COULD you capture the essence of Daventry in winter?
Specsavers in Bowen Square has teamed up with the Daventry Express to launch a spectacular photographic competition to find the town’s best amateur photographers through the festive period.
All we’re asking you to do is put your creative skills to the test and capture what you think best represents Daventry in winter.
The photo can be of a unique and personal place, or someone or something you associate with Daventry at this time of year.
Whether it’s breathtaking scenery, historical landmarks or a friendly neighbour - it’s that easy.
The competition is open to everyone and the winner will receive a top of the range compact digital Pentax Optio RZ18 camera worth £200 and a pair of single-vision designer frames from Specsavers worth £125.
The runner-up will also receive a pair of single vision specs.
Steve Richardson, store director of Specsavers in Daventry, said: “This competition is a fantastic opportunity for amateur photographers to showcase their talent by illustrating how beautiful Daventry is at this time of year.
“We can’t wait to see the variety of photos taken by people from the town.”
Over the coming weeks, the Daventry Express will print a selection of entries from which the judges will choose their winners.
Judges will be Daventry Express editor Matt Cornish, Daventry Express photographer Ian Spencer and Specsavers store director Steve Richardson.
It’s a maximum number of two entries per person.
For the chance to be Daventry’s Specsavers Photographer of the Year, complete the entry form below and send it with your photo to 63 High Street, Daventry, NN11 4BQ, or email your photograph and contact details to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The closing date for entries is Thursday, January 26 and the winners will be announced in the paper shortly afterwards.
