Contractors and suppliers are being invited to apply for a place on a Northamptonshire-wide register of trusted traders to deliver services for Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) recipients.
The new register will be available to people who receive the grants so quotations can be requested to carry out the work required.
The DFG is a government scheme run by local councils which helps fund essential adaptations to allow people to remain living independently in their own homes.
Grants of up to £30,000 are available for work such as the installation of level access showers, lifts and hoists, and major adaptations including the required professional services such as drawings and designs.
Daventry District Council is compiling the register on behalf of other local councils in Northamptonshire; Corby Borough Council, East Northamptonshire Council, Kettering Borough Council, Northampton Borough Council and Borough Council of Wellingborough.
It is expected to launch in January 2016 and operate for two years with a possible extension for a further two years.
The initial deadline to apply for the register is November 23, but the opportunity to apply will remain open, with new applications being considered every three months, and added to the register if successful.
Contractors and suppliers in Northamptonshire are being invited to sign-up by visiting www.lgssprocurementportal.co.uk and clicking on ‘Current Opportunities’.
