COMPOST will be given away to people in Daventry next week.

Daventry District Council will have compost, created from the households’ brown bin waste, at the Chaucer Way car park off Ashby Road in Daventry on Saturday, May 7, between 9.30am and 1pm.

A voluntary donation will be collected for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance on the day and the previous giveaway, held on April 9, raised £256 for the charity.

People are asked to take along their own sturdy bags or containers to take the compost away, along with a shovel if they have one, and it will be limited to three bags per household.
