A COMMUNITY turned out to support its association’s Christmas fair at the weekend.

The Southbrook Community Association held a Christmas fair on Saturday, at its community centre in Hood Road.

Gaynor Barnsley, fundraising and events coordinator, said: “When we opened the doors there was a surge of people.

“It was lovely to see so many from the estate coming along.

“We had lots of handcrafted items for sale on the stalls, toys, books and Father Christmas was there in his grotto.

“Thank you to everyone from the community for supporting us.”

So far the total raised from the event is more than £300, but more money is still expected to add to that.

The money will go to towards funding various events for the community.
