Community fun day to mark Daventry toddler group’s opening

The opening of a new toddler group on the Grange estate in Daventry will be marked with a community fun day.

Butterflies Stay and Play, based in the Nene Hall in Tamar Square, will be officially opened by the Mayor of Daventry Cllr Wendy Randall.

The community day takes place on Saturday, September 5, at the Nene Hall from 9am to midday and also on the playing field from 9am till 3pm.

Minions Carl and Dave will be at the hall from 10am to 11am.

Other attractions include a fire engine, Halfords promoting bike safety, free security advice from a locksmith, a bouncy castle, and Cinderella will drop in between midday and 1pm.

On the field will be representatives from DDC’s environment team, Action For Children which runs the children’s centre in Staverton Road, and the Daventry and Villages National Childbirth Trust branch.

There will also be a car boot sale, stalls including local artists, hand-made crafts, cakes, facepainting, make-up, cards and stationery, gifts and furniture, sweets and a wildlife re-homing group, plus plenty more.

Stalls are available for a fee of £5. Car boot stalls are also welcome.

Butterflies Stay and Play will be open to children on September 7, and will run sessions from 9am to midday on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays for £3 for the first child and £1 for every additional one.
